Shell Shock
Appropriation (Shell logo) used to tell a visual story of special interests at work in America’s war in Iraq and the surrounding Middle East. This screen print poster includes six layers, including a flat-pull of a sandy cream color overlay. Almost cartoon in representation; unrealistic map, the shadow-like outline of an airplane and parachuting soldier, serve as an intentional visual reference to our society’s detachment in this war. (Inspired by great political posters, propaganda // dissent oriented, alike.)
